The journalism program produces two of the school’s publications: The yearbook and the district college guide.  In the Yearbook Production & Publication class, 12th grade students learn how to use a DSLR camera, write using the journalistic style, create visually appealing layouts using online design software and, most importantly, collaborate with one another to produce a yearbook that showcases the school year.

Intrinsic to the program are 21st century career and college skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and technology literacy.  Students are required to master all aspects of the yearbook publication process, while working cooperatively with peers and building faculty and staff.

Although Yearbook Production & Publication is an academic class, students who are not enrolled in the class can volunteer to help with the yearbook after school or during their lunch period. Interested students can stop by Office 2 to see Mrs. Rios.
